What is Head Start?
Head Start provides educational development and support services on a year-round basis to low-income families. Head Start programs improve physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development in children, help parents in gaining self-sufficiency and fulfilling their parental roles, and build stronger family and community bonds.
Head Start works with low-income families with children ages 6 months to 5 years as well as with children with special needs.
